Upon leaving CH, the current pandemic resulted in a serious financial impact on me.

As a student, it has been a struggle to find a job and I found myself being released from two separate retail jobs. I was told to contact BSB by a former teacher of mine and they have been of significant help ever since, especially during such a difficult period of time. Travel in London can be very expensive and BSB were able to finance a season Oyster card to allow me to get around London for free during my gap year as well as provide a replacement laptop when my previous one reached the end of its time. As it is only me supporting my sister at home, they were also able to assist me when buying groceries which I am extremely grateful for!

My initial gap year plan was to spend a few months in Kenya to mainly volunteer at local hospitals, however, I have been unable to do this due to current travel restrictions. I am currently preparing to study Medicine in September, with the future goal of becoming a doctor and hopefully specialising in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

It could not be easier to make an application to the BSB. If you, or anyone you know who qualifies, would like to seek financial assistance, click apply now
