I’m an Old Blue and one of the BSB’s beneficiaries. I came to Christ’s...

I’m an Old Blue and one of the BSB’s beneficiaries. I came to Christ’s Hospital thanks to a programme that each year allowed a few pupils from Lithuania to come to finish their last two years of schooling (A-Levels) at CH. I cannot express how wonderful and life-changing these two years have been to me. Upon arrival at the school, I was immediately struck by the outstanding quality of teaching I found here, the resources available to pupils, and, most of all, the dedication of our teachers to help us youngsters develop academically and to prepare us for the wider world that followed school.

I’ve been repaying my debt to the BSB in small monthly instalments over the past years. I’m enormously grateful for your patience! The fund’s generous flexibility meant that I was able to pursue further postgraduate education and to eventually complete a PhD in Philosophy in 2017. I’ve had to repay some pressing loans to my bank after that, but with all that now beside me and my financial situation stabilising, I’m finally able to clear my debt to the BSB in full. In the midst of it all, I started a family and have two little and adorable kids.

My situation would have been much more difficult over these years were it not for the fund’s flexible and generous approach. I am now a postdoctoral researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. I have become an international academic and the BSB played a humongous role in allowing me to shape and eventually fulfil this dream over years.

Thank you!
